In the third and final masterwork in the Strongheart Society trilogy, “The Gatekeeper”, bronze sculptor Dave McGary depicts the valiant Teton Sioux Warrior, Iron Thunder.  He is shown on his war horse taunting the enemy to battle. The piece is being premiered at Claggett/Rey Gallery in Vail on March 18th, at an artist’s reception from 5 to 7pm.

Dave McGary is known worldwide for his realism, detail and depiction of Native Americans; their history, people and spirit.   His work is displayed in private, corporate, museum and institutional collections throughout the world including the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Marriott’s Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody,  Wyoming, the Autry Museum of Western  Heritage in Los Angeles, the Capitol in Washington, D.C. at the Smithsonian and Statutory Hall, Shinnecock Native Cultural Center and Museum, in corporate buildings and at the  Eiteljorg  Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis.
